With the
development of WWTC’s New York office, the VoIP network design will be based
off WWTC’s equipment list which shows the New York location will need 94 VoIP
phones placed in all the offices that are in line with the organizational
chart. To keep costs low, data lines configured for voice will be handled
internally by the IT department. Being able to manage voice services in house
will allow faster turnaround with repairs and upgrades when necessary. Also
with cutting out outside lines which can cost up to $1 dollar a minute, using
VoIP will be a lot more cost effective in the long run for WWTC.

bandwidth usage for 94 phones, our IT department will designate a certain
allocation to allow that all phones are accessible at all times. Since all the
phones won’t be used at once, we’ll allocate 50 percent of the 94 phones to be
used at one time. 47 phones will have bandwidth allocated to achieve this goal.
According to Cisco’s VoIP per call bandwidth allocation chart, using a G.729
Codec, the bit rate will be at 8 Kbps. The voice pay load will be at 20ms at a
packet rate of 50pps (Cisco, 2016). Calculating these figures, the allocated
bandwidth needed will be 560 Kbps.

Frame size is calculated by multiplying by
8 from the Bit Rate and Packet Size. 8+20×8= 224

224bits x 50pps = 11.2 Kbps

11.2 Kbps x 50 phones = 560 Kbps

requires wireless services in the conference rooms and lobby areas. These
wireless access points need to be secure and not radiate outside their
designated perimeters of the rooms. WWTC requires that the minimum wireless
speed be 54Mbps and after conducting a survey there is no RF interference found
in this office space. For wireless access will be achieved by using the Cisco
Aironet 1130G series access points along with the Cisco 2100 series wireless
LAN controller. All access points will offer 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz with 20 channels
of each at each access point. Access points are illustrated on figure 1 below.


2100 Cisco Series wireless LAN Controller manages 6, 12, or 25 access points and
up to 256 users, allowing for secure/encrypted communications through the
RADIUS server in all WiFi designated hot spots (Cisco, n.d). Each access point
will also offer up to 100Mps to allow future expansion in bandwidth later down

with integrated antennas for easy deployment in the offices they’re designated
