One very important fact it is that

of my favourite favourite book series is “Harry Potter” series.I always liked
sci-fiction books and also movies and since I was a child I was interested in
magic and supranatural.J.K Rowling is a contemporary writer who has reached a
big succes with “Harry Potter” series. What I like the most about these novels
is her fine sense of detailing what is need to be detailed even though it
always exists the risk that the reader may become bored if there is no action
in the story. She knew thsat, and she managed it very well.

There are a lot of similarities between the movies and the books because
the movie directors knew how to caption not only the main actions and scenes,
but also the detailes I was talking about. There are also some differences that
a lot of fans consider they should have been in the movie: from the look of the
characters to the socks of an elf.In these essay I will talk about how the
characters from the movies should have looked like, based on J.K Rowling”s

Harry Potter, the hero, played by Daniel Radcliff, was known between the
wizards like “the boy who lived” and the boy who has “his mother”s eyes”,
Lilly. From his first day at Hogwarts, Professor Snape recognizes Harry because
of his big green eyes.It is known that Snape was in love with Lilly. In movies,
Harry”s eyes are brown because he could not stand his contact lenses and the
director decided to use his natural colour.A very important fact it is that his
famous scar was in the middle of his forehead in the books, a thing different
from the movies. Also, it is known that the book character has wild hair like
his father.”Harry had always been small and
skinny for his age…Harry had a thin face, knobbly knees, black hair, and
bright green eyes.”

Hermione Granger, the brain of the group
was the only one who was a muggle which means that her parents were not
wizards. J.K Rowling has always seen herself in this character. “She had a bossy sort of voice, lots of bushy brown hair, and rather
large front teeth.” In the movies, Emma Watson has perfect teeth since the
first one.

Ron Weasley, whose bigger brother had
family business with dragons in Romania, Transylvania, was the silly one. The
book Ron had red hair, like the actor Rupert Grint but the director forgot
something very important about Ron: the freckles. “He was tall, thin and
gangling, with freckles, big hands and feet, and a long nose”

Alan Rickman is the perfect Severus
Snape. It could not be another actor that could have played this character
better than him. Snape was like a protector for Harry, even though sometimes he
was mean. He needed Voldemort” s trust. He had “greasy black hair, a hooked
nose, and sallow skin”.

In the first two movies, Albus Dumbledore
was interpreted by Richard Harris, then changed with Michael Gambon. Even
though the first actor was a better representation of Dumbledore, both of ther
portraited very well his image with his long white hair and and beard. It is
something very important that the movie directors had forgot: his glasses which
had the shape of a half moon. “He wore half-moon glasses, had a long, crooked
nose, and flowing silver hair, beard, and mustache.”

The book character, Minerva Mcgonagall was
the most badass teacher that Hogwarts had.Apart from her “beady eyes”, her
attitude was very imposing.Unfortunately, the movie characther is very
different. Maggie Smith plays her role, but in the books, Minerva is much
younger than in the movies. Also, the movie characther had “square glasses”.

Ralph Fiennes was perfect for Lord
Voldemort, but there is though something missing. The eyes were not the same. “Whiter than a skull, with wide, livid scarlet eyesand a nose
that was flat as a snake’s with slits for nostrils”

Rufus Scrimegeour, the Prime Minister in the book has glasses, apart
from the one in the movie, but that is not the main differences between the two
characters. The biggest one is that Rufus from the book looked more like a lion.
rather like an old lion. There were streaks of
grey in his mane of tawny hair and his bushy eyebrows, he had keen yellowish
eyes behind a pair of wire-rimmed spectacles.

Of course, there are a lot of
resemblences or differences like Luna Lovegood”s “dirty blonde hair”,
Nymphadora”s pink hair or Neville Longbottom”s blonde hair but i tried to
resume the most important ones from my point of view. The “Harry Potter”
Universe is very important for me because it represents a very big part of my
childhood and adolescence. Now, re-reading the books and re-watching the movies
I observe things from another perspective, things that evey human being
struggles with day by day, fears that we need to face and societies where we
need to fit in.

In conclusion, there are a lot of
particularities that are different in movies or books, but the most important
thing is the message that we understand. The message can be understood only if
both writer and director work together. The deeper understanding of things stays
in details.
